COURTS, Mary Elizabeth

Sunday, November 26th, 2023, at the age of 83.

Beloved partner (for 40 years) of George Bik.
Loving mother of William (Maria), Richard (Kim) and Todd (Helen).
Dear stepmother of Jeff and Michelle (Serge). Cherished grandmother of
Stephani (Kallon), Mitchell, Matthew, Jaimee, Kyle, Alexandra (Pat), Rachel (Justin) Mathieu, Sebastien, Stephanie and great-grandmother of Konstantine and Aislyn.
Sadly missed by sisters Daisy (the late Ron) and Beverly (Larry). Special aunt to Daron, Rhonda, Stephen, Shelly and Bradley. Predeceased by her parents William and Elizabeth Gay.

Mary worked for many years for Canteen of Canada in Rexdale, and later in life for Huskey Molding in Bolton. In retirement, she took up interior decorating. Many walls have her inspiration on them. Some of her hobbies she loved were painting, drawing, knitting and crocheting. Many people are now in receipt of her creations. She was an excellent chef, and her famous potato salad was to die for. Mary always looked forward to our annual boxing day family dinner and gathering. Mary also did all the secretarial work for George’s business and for his Lion’s club duties. Mary loved to travel. She visited the Caribbean, Europe and Australia twice, where she made many friendships. Mary was an avid Elvis fan and loved listening to his music. She was also a member of the
Alliston 54 plus seniors’ club, she held many positions within the club, and she
enjoyed her weekly shuffleboard and crafters club.

At Mary’s and the family’s request, cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date.
Interment will take place in the spring of 2024 in the family plot.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the
Alliston Lion’s Club food hamper
would be appreciated by the family.
